Beattie Brands is a brand owner, primarily but not exclusively in food and beverage, using insight and analysis to develop new innovative products for the UK market.

There are no short cuts, no easy wins! We work hard to ensure our resources utilised are rewarded with the launch of unique products which have the potential to ‘win’ in their categories.

We invest heavily in brand marketing support, and in our sales resources which allow us to focus both on driving physical store distribution and sales in the on-line D2C channel.

What we do

We conduct market, category, customer and consumer research, also reviewing trend and other data sources, to identify gaps and opportunities for new products.

Developing market positioning is crucial in ensuring our new products are different to and better than our competitor set, so we have a point of difference to offer the end consumer.

BBL generates and establishes brand names and secures trademark licenses.

We investigate audit and source ‘white label’ supply from manufacturers, in the UK and across Europe, China and India.

BBL launches new products, primarily in the UK, and brand builds for future growth, through its marketing and sales teams.

About Us

We have our own sales team, focusing solely on BBL products through multiple distribution channels (retail, wholesale, travel, foodservice etc), and we also partner with GFT Retail sales team to achieve more reach into other sales channels and across Europe.

Our marketing team are capable of strategic thinking through to the execution of marketing plans, both digital and off-line marketing.

Additionally, we have a strategic partnership with on-line specialists Alchemyst e-commerce, where we secure on-line visibility, sales and growth D2C for our brands, both in e-commerce (primarily Amazon) and social commerce (primarily TikTok shops).

Our four Beattie Brands Limited shareholders are…

Ross Beattie

Ross Beattie is Managing Director and majority owner of BBL. Ross has spent almost 40 years in the grocery industry, launching his career with big branded multinationals businesses; General Foods, Britvic Soft Drinks, HP Bulmer, and McCormick.

Ross is hugely experienced in taking brands to market and has many successful F&B product launches over his career to date. One of Ross’s key skills is sales, particularly developing powerful relationships with customers.

Steve Pezzack

GFT Retail are an Investor shareholder. Steve Pezzack, founder of GFT Retail has spent over 35 years in the grocery industry. GFT Retail own their own brands as well as having exclusive brands they handle in the UK market.

Steve has huge experience in taking challenger brands and building them into wide distribution, both in UK trade sales channels but also through European retailers.

Chris Lewis

Chris Lewis is Marketing Director at Beattie Brands Limited and is critical in identifying strategic opportunities and developing these ideas into new brands and products.

Chris’s background is as a consumer marketer, spending over 25 years working on some of the UK’s biggest brands, such as Strongbow, Weetabix and Colman’s, and more recently working in marketing consulting, lecturing, training and mentoring. Chris is an award-winning marketing professional with CIM and IDM qualifications.

Mary-Anne Beattie

Mary-Anne Beattie is Commercial Director at BBL and brings with her a wealth of experience in previous senior roles. Mary-Anne helps shape new products during the development phase and is key at supporting brands at launch.

Her D2C expertise via her role at Alchemyst ecommerce supports the on-line roll-out of the BBL portfolio.
